The MAGIC ISDN Telephone Hybrid System is a modular system. The basic system which is only one unit in height allows the digital mixing of all incoming calls. The mixed signal is available at a common analogue (optional digital) On Air output. The system incorporates 2 x BRI interfaces for up to 4 callers. Alternatively, one or more B channels can be used for Call Forwarding, e.g. calls can be switched to the editorial office.

An Extension System extends the number of operational B channels. In addition, an analogue input and output are available, that can be used, e.g., for the Pre-Talk function via the optional handset or the analogue Pre-Talk interface. A maximum of four systems for up to 16 simultaneous callers, can be interconnected. All 16 callers can be digital mixed. Any B channel can optionally be configured for call forwarding.

A digital, line echo canceller for each caller (B channel), an Automatic Gain Control (AGC) and an expander for noise reduction, improve the audio quality.

With the optional AES/EBU/Analogue Module the Basic system can be expanded by two digital or two analogue inputs and outputs. Thereby the audio interfaces can be used for, e.g., a first interface for Pre-Talk, a second interface for On Air and a third input for an external Hold signal.

With the control software MAGIC TOUCH which is optimized for Touch Screen operation, the program presenter can select the callers who shall be switched simultaneously On Air. The mixing of all callers takes place digitally in the system. Each caller gets a return signal which incorporates the On Air signal (e.g. program presenter & music) and the mixed signal from all callers switched On Air. The individual signal of each caller is digitally filtered (Mix Minus function).

For redundancy, the optional MAGIC Hybrid Keypad can be connected to the basic system in parallel with the PC control.

Instead of a Touch Screen also the MAGIC Hybrid Keypad PC can be used.
